PHYSICAL THERAPIST

will perform the following duties:

  • Assist children in developing and improving gross motor skills, focusing on postural control, ambulation, balance and coordination skills
  • Provide evaluation and treatment of children in home-based and school-based settings
  • Evaluate individual child's progress and maintain/update ongoing therapy plan
  • Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over at community settings
  • Instruct in the use, function, and care of prosthesis and devices such as braces, collars, belts, crutches and canes
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Applicant must hold a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy, a New York state license, and have 1-3 years work experience.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

will perform the following duties:

  • Assist children with developing and improving fine motor skills and adjustment to disabilities
  • Provide evaluation and treatment of children in home-based and school-based settings
  • Plan occupational therapy programs designed to facilitate fine motor, sensory-motor, and self-help development
  • Select constructive activities suited to the individual child's physical capabilities and mental capacity
  • Conduct programs involving such activities as cognitive stimulation, therapeutic activities and exercises, manual arts and crafts and daily living functional skills
  • Teach individual skills and techniques required for participation in functional and educational activities
  • Evaluate individual child's progress and maintain/update ongoing therapy plan
  • Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over at community settings
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Applicant must hold a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, a New York state license, and have 1-3 years work experience.

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

will perform the following duties:

  • Assess, screen, evaluate, analyze and treat communicative, swallowing and other problems resulting from speech, language and related disorders and the diseases or traumas which caused them
  • Treat speech, language and related disorders such as aphasia, phonological defects, language delay, stuttering, and those secondary to traumatic injury.
  • Teach individual skills and techniques required for participation in functional and educational activities
  • Counsel patients and/or families in the principles and basis of speech, language, swallowing, and/or related impairments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Applicant must hold a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, a New York state license, and have 1-3 years work experience.

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

will perform the following duties:

  • Provide individualized special education programs to preschool children with special needs in order to stimulate the verbal and intellectual development necessary to maximize the children's prospects for integration into regular school classes.
  • Collaborate in individualized planning and programming with providers and therapists in other disciplines, parents, and regular education staff.
  • Implement Individualized Education Programs developed by multi-disciplinary professional teams.
  • Provide direct service to children in a comfortable and natural context at the children's schools, daycare programs, or homes.
  • Indirectly serve children by communicating with, counseling and training parents in methods to help their children in overcoming physical, mental and/or emotional difficulties.
  • Attend seminars, workshops and courses to increase professional skill set.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant must hold any of the following valid New York certifications:
  • NYS Provisional or Permanent NYS Cert as aTeacher of Children with Disabilities (b-2)
  • NYS Provisional or Permanent NYS Cert as a TSHH
Experience working with Preschool programs preferred.
Bilingual Education Extension may be added to any of the above certificates.
